We all have our own personalities. Some of us are reflective, others are emotional. Some of us are more experimental, while others are more active and energetic.

Over the centuries of Yoga's development, four different paths have developed to suit these various personality traits: Karma Yoga (Hatha Yoga, Laya Yoga/Kundalini Yoga,) Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga, Jnana Yoga. The Upanishads list an additional path, Mantra Yoga.

These types are not mutually exclusive: everyone has some talent in all paths, but each person has a particualr attraction toward one path in particualr depending on their personality traits.
